I like to think they’re smiling in more than a sense here because they know their baby is on the way - Kitsis and Horowitz once said something about Snow being about 4 weeks pregnant when they shot this scene.
Their amazing and perfect outfits.
Their entwined hands in this special way.
A normal way would mean they could move quite freely being side by side without having to touch any other part of each other. This way, though, they’re forced to move like they were one and the contact is much more intimate.
